Error Number: 43014

Error Message: DEB: The debris hose is disconnected, the cabinet has lost power, or the cabinet lid is not latched properly

Operator Action:

Check that both the internal and external portions of the debris hose are connected. Check that the UDRC has power available. Check that the UDRC lid is properly latched. If you are unable to resolve the problem, contact your local Customer Service Representative.
If you can hear the cabinet's blower running and the filter is new (or clean) this may indicate a blocked vacuum sensor port on the debris nozzle. Please clear the vacuum sensor port using this procedure . To prevent repeated blockage of the nozzle please check to ensure that the current version of the debris nozzle is installed and, if applicable, an airjet plate is installed.

Service Information:

There is no flow at the debris collection nozzle inside the output device.

Cause:

o Cause 1: The debris removal collection nozzle is blocked. Solution: Check the nozzle for obstructions (eg slipsheet) and remove.
o Cause 2: Leak in the debris collection hose. Solution: Check debris collection hose for leaks (cracks in hose or poor connections) entire length between the nozzle and the cabinet.
o Cause 3: Leak in the pressure sensor lines. Solution: Check all sensor tubes for kinks/ holes and for poor connections, especially the 2 connections from the UDRC-L electronics enclosure to the UDRC bulkhead; these particular 1-touch fittings have been known to appear connected, but actually require a substantial additional force to become properly seated. Also check nozzle pressure tap and nozzle pressure sensor tubes, UDRC backpack sensor connections, UDRC Bellmouth connection (below screen at bottom of filter pot).
o Cause 4: Debris collection nozzle is too dirty, causing blockage of the pressure tap hole. Solution: Every design of collection nozzle has a tiny pressure tap hole that could get clogged over a period of time. Please refer to the appropriate cleaning instructions on the Techplanet: Typically this will appear as a lower flow in the collection nozzle than the bellmouth (UDRC-L) flow sensor.
o Cause 5: Incorrect software parameter settings. Solution: Refer to the Techplanet document " 750-00001A-x Debris Removal Firmware Guide_Parameter Values, Descriptions and Flowchart . Check the look up tables on page 1, and check all the current values, especially the following parameters: nfc, nfe, bfc, bfe, fmaxdiff, nst (long names cross referenced in document).
o Cause 6: If the particulate filter is new and the difference between the flows at the nozzle and bell mouth are greater than 14 SCMH, then the sensors may be connected incorrectly. Solution: Remove the UDRC-L electronics enclosure and check that the 0-10" sensor is plugged into AN1 and the 0-100" sensor is plugged into AN2. Reseat the 3 connectors AN1, AN2 and AN3. Also ensure that the larger (clear) sensing hose is connected (via a Y-junction) to the LOW port of the 0-100" sensor and the HIGH port of 0-10" sensor, AND that the smaller (small blue expanded to big clear hose) hose conneted to the LOW port of the 0-10" sensor.
o Cause 7: The debris removal nozzle may have a machining intolerance that requires re-calibration. Solution: This is only applicable upon installation of a new L system. This needs to be escalated to the PSM for the UDRC. Typically if this is the real problem, the difference between the nozzle and bell mouth are just slightly beyond the acceptable flow difference (see flow max difference software parameter). The PSM will provide alternate nozzle calibration constants provided all other possible leaks have been checked. Typically this problem results in the nozzle flow reading higher than the bellmouth (UDRC-L) flow.
o Cause 8: Manufacturing defect of the UDRC-L electronics backpack cable. Solution: In a rare incident a small batch of defective backpack cables was shipped. Check that on the 25-pin UDRC bulkhead connector from the backpack, there is a wire loop connecting pins 16 and 3. Only 1 known possibly defective cable remains in the field at Ross Printing in Spokane, Washington.
o Cause 9: Defective debris vacuum sensor. Solution: Replace the debris vacuum sensor.
