Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Professional and Standard update - English, French, German, and Japanese

The Adobe® Acrobat® 8.1 Professional and Standard update addresses several known issues in Acrobat 8 Professional and Standard software. Adobe recommends that all Acrobat 8 Standard and Professional users apply this update.

Improvements in Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Standard and Professional include the following:
• Support for Microsoft® Windows Vista™ (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
• Support for Microsoft Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
• Support (including one-button PDF file creation) for Microsoft Office 2007
• Additional stability improvements

System requirements

Acrobat 8.1 Professional for Windows requires the following:
• Intel® Pentium® III processor or equivalent
• Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4; Windows Server® 2003 (32-bit or 64-bit editions) with Service Pack 1; Windows XP Professional, Home, Tablet PC, or 64-bit Editions with Service Pack 2; or Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit editions)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7
• 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
• 860MB of available hard-disk space; cache for optional installation files (recommended) requires an additional 460MB of hard-disk space
• 1,024x768 screen resolution
• CD-ROM drive, if installing from a CD
• Internet or phone connection required for product activation

Acrobat 8.1 Standard for Windows requires the following:
• Intel Pentium III processor or equivalent
• Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003 (32-bit or 64-bit editions) with Service Pack 1; Windows XP Professional, Home, Tablet PC, or 64-bit Editions with Service Pack 2; or Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit editions)

Installation Instructions

This update requires that Acrobat 8 is installed on your system. To determine which version of Acrobat you have currently installed, choose Help > About Acrobat. The version number appears in the upper left corner below the Acrobat logo.

If you have version 8 installed, download and install the incremental patch.

After downloading the ".msp" update file, double-click the file to access its contents.
